MEASURE TWICE; CUT ONCE

This adage is worth reciting daily in an industry where the push to get on with the "cut" can be overbearing.  Estimating is just one of many things to do before planting the first shovel.  To name a few, there are constructability reviews, coordination between trades, site evaluations, verification of existing conditions, code review.  A project that is poorly designed and planned has little chance of creating satisfaction.

MEASURE SEVEN TIMES; CUT ONCE

This purportedly Eastern European version of the same adage makes the point that those who actually make the cuts are in truth the most important of any project participant.  It is up to those who facilitate their work to provide the conditions, tools, equipment, materials, products, systems, and instructions to ensure they have the best possible opportunity to do the job

safely and correctly.

Products sold these days offer web downloads of complete owners' instruction/operation manuals.  Sometimes more than needed, the concept is good.  Long before the internet, the auto industry understood this, providing comprehensive owners' manuals with each vehicle sold.

A client who spends money on costly construction needs and certainly deserves a good and helpful way forward in managing their investment.
